What are you Reading?

Well Winter Reads is over but I'm still doing book reports! I'm reading a book on blogging for creatives. Maybe I can spice up this blog some! Or at least how to make paragraphs! I still haven't figured out why it is I can enter and tab all day and no paragraphs. I've been scrapping this weekend at Colorful Creations Pot of Gold Crop I'm working on Challenge 10 right now. This photo is of my parents wedding for the 1st challenge green and a kiss. It was the first kiss picture I found and I even went through all my wedding pics! I guess I had scrapped mine already. Since my ferrets have gone I so want another pet. I've been thinking about a cat or rats. Two totally different pets! The rats would be easy to keep in an aquarium but I don't know when the Petco aquariums will go on sale and their bedding and food is reasonable. We've had rats before, Steve had one named Buddy when we met and one named Hercules that the pet store gave to him because its owners couldn't care for it but didn't want it to be snake food. The cat however I have two things I'm considering. One is a friend who brought in an outside cat because it was about to have kittens. The kittens would be ready to leave Momma cat around the first of April. So I could buy stuff for the kitten now and then at PetSmart its 38.95 one time membership and 28.95 a month for a year and this covers all vet and the spay and neuter. However, hubs will not agree to a cat unless its declawed and that would be 250 when it gets spayed/neutered so they do it all at once and keep it over for two days. Of course to keep thinking on this I go into the pet stores and the Petco has a beautiful medium haired black cat named Wallace that is already declawed. But instead of buying the things a little at a time until April we'd have to buy it all now. Trust me those cats go fast at Petco! I swear it rare that I go in and see the same cat next week.

Christmas at the Clubhouse

A most awful photo but hey I scrapped a page. If I didn't I wouldn't scrap tomorrow and try to do a page a day. I'm sure I can find photos if I run out of Christmas ones from the club house. This was for the foil challenge over at Colorful Creations. I used foil from the kitchen and embossed it with my cuttle bug and then colored it with Alcohol ink. The stickers I had with the paper but I don't know what paper company. A friend gave me it a few years ago. I need to find my camera so I can take pictures without my phone. I think the megapixles are about the same but I think I could have managed better with the actual camera. Didn't stitch today. I need to look through patterns and find a free fairy or a fairy alphabet for a friend. I'm trying to stitch the name Ava. Found some images on google but they were part of books and rather expensive. Trying to keep this as cheep as possible for her. Also, I need to start stitching a bookmark for a giveaway I'll be doing on my Zachary Quinto Community Facebook page. Deciding how I'd do it for the blog too.

Anniversary Card

Moved the card so I could remember all that I used and the darn bow fell off again :p will be off to find more glue at least anniverary isn't until Saturday!

I used a vintage playing card image from Dover Sampler and colored it in with a red watercolor pencil. Added a red heart button over one of the hearts on the card. I used my Leave it to Weaver Fiskars Border punch and then used red Kaiser Craft Ribbon. I made a bow with the ribbon and some silver twine stuff from my stash. I learned how to make the bow from a Fiskars Tutorial on NSD. The black cardstock I pulled from stash and embossed with Flur De Lis cuttlebug folder and filed down. The metal hearts I colored with cranberry alchol ink and attatched to the black cardstock and hten to the card.

Magical Crafts Fortnightly challenge - use metal. I used the hearts.

Totally Paper Crafts - use monochrome I used red with white and black.

City Crafter Blogspot - use ribbons and bows. I wove my ribbon and made a bow if it would stay on :p

Tuesday Tagger - use texture. I feel my embossing w/filing and ribbon add texture to the card. They reminded me they had a prize from Tanda Stamps. I hadn't heard of them before but these stamps look awesome!

Little Red Wagon - alter an embelishment. I altered the metal with alcohol inks.

Whoopsy Daisy Challenge - ribbons and bows.

ABC Challenge - V is for Vintage. I used an vintage playing card image from Dover Sampler.

TY

I found Off the Wall Craftiness through another persons blog (that I'll have to find later)

I loved the challenge! I love those colors and it was perfect for a Thank You card for my friend who gave me a nice gift on my B-day.

Here was the challenge color palate.

This is my card! I used some 8X8 cardstock I had to cut the base and the yellow flower sheet was from an album kit I bought to make my cousin her Life Book. So hurray for using stash! The flowers are imaginisce that my friend Pinky gave me ;) I dug around my brad stash to find some cute brads. The green ribbon she also gave me and I used a tutorial I found on fiskars for NSD part of it showed how to tie the bow. The chipboard sticker is from Thickers and I inked it with Tim Holtz Alchol ink in Lettuce and Sunshine Yellow. The blue letters are also Thickers. I used a Becky Fleck Card Map from March 2010.

I made this card while listening too Radio Free Burrito So get your geek on and listen in ;)

Oh scrapbook supplies how I've missed you!

Pinky had posted an online crop on her blog so I've been busy creating over at http://www.scrapbookingfromtheinsideout.com/index.html

Sketch Challenge
Photobucket
the journaling on the side says these stamped images and chipboard letters have been sitting in a drawer Waiting to be used (had to use sketch and the word wait or waiting)

Iron Scrapper Challenge
Photobucket
Had to use one of the pictures provided. Looking for a pic to go with the keyhole I came across the Coraline poster so went online to find the Jasper Fforde book cover. Then I found book quotes and decided that a quote would be good over the keyhole pic so I changed the color and added a text box :D There were more quotes I liked so I made a library pocket with my Hot of the Press template and made some tags. The keys came from Thickers, grungeboard and metal pieces I had. The keyhole was grungeboard and I found some heart brads since I used the heart pin I had from a swap. Paper is ollldd it's been in my stash for 6 years? I dembossed it w/my flur de lis cuttlebug folder (because I didn't relize I had it upside down :p) The bottom part I hand embossed with my fiskars template. I distressed and inked everything with distress ink in china blue and antique linen.

Anticipation challenge

Do an LO about the Anticipation of Spring or your fav flower. You must distress at least one flower. I turned this into a double LO (Page Maps by Becky Fleck for all LO's) and did a walk I took when it was warm enough in April to go out. The papers are Cosmo Cricket that I won, I think the red ribbon is too it was ment to go with cogsmo I've had that for about a year now. The flowers were some distressed one I had gotten for free and I think I won the prima's too! The prima's I scrunched and inked up to match the distressing of the other flowers.

and the upload is taking forever because I used hubby's camera I guess :p my BIL took my camera to Indy so he could take pics of his grandbaby! Ziggy is a Great Aunt now! So you might see some Baby LO's in the future.

Sunday Scrapping

I made an easel card last night that splitcoast stampers did a tutorial on. I had to find a marker to go back and draw the bird because the stamped image didn't come out too well on the background. I love this paper and it was some of the new stuff that I bought when I was in FL for the Holidays and it was more inspiring than the random pick of This Is Not A Credit Card. I saved a few of those but besides stamping lines I haven't used them.

Photobucket

Then Lead Fiskater Rebecca put up this challenge on the Fiskars blog so I went looking for Christmas Inspiration and found it here at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards

This first card is for their new sketch.

and then I went down the list and made 4 more for the Fiskars Challenge I hope you like.

Photobucket
I didn't make the tag it was from the FiskaFriendzy tag swap so TY to the talented lady who made it there was no name on the back.
I would also like to thank the ladies who particpated in punch swaps, emobossed paper swaps and die cut swaps! The ornament embossing, square embossing, trees, snowman and dressed to chill sentiment came from them oh and the snow flakes! All that and I've barely made a dent in the Die Cut, Embossing and Swap drawer. :p
