Ferret Friday

I got a lot done today! We went to get my oil changed so I brought it along and stitched some in the car and while waiting. Then later on I went over to my friend's house who was having other friends over for pizza and hanging out so I brought it over and stitched away while everyone chatted and the kids ran around. It's looking a little creepy with the eye not there so I think that's where I'll start off next Friday. It looks so much like Pratchett though!

George and Jim sit under my computer monitor with whatever other stuff wedged in like Oliver and Sinclair Chocolate, a fishy and shell turtle from friend who went to FL, Myrtle the turtle getting crushed by hubs' Valentine's card, some necklaces, a number for a dairy?, the book I was keeping track of my WIPocolaypse in, etc.

The TUSAL's didn't get named until the start of Jan 2011. I had been using a glass bowl from my wedding when I started TUSAL in 2009. At the start of Jan 2010 when I was trying to figure out what to do with the orts, my ferret Pratchett decided for me. He finally got onto the couch and the end table where I had left it and knocked it over. :p Bad Ferret! So I dug through my stuff for something durable.

My next TUSAL container was this, it was meant to hold playing cards. I had Monty Python Holy Grail game cards but as I was the only person with time, out they went and in went orts. When I dumped the orts into a mug in Jan 2011 to start over they stayed clumped together in the shape of the container. I immediatly got that Loony Tunes feeling when that loveable big off would find a wee little creature and say he was going to love them and squeeze them and hold them and call them George. So George was named.
After I set George on my computer desk I decided he looked like a Rectangular Rainbow Tribble (RRT). I then remembered watching the new Star Trek movie and James T. Kirk's father was named George and his Grandfather was Tiberius. So the RRT got named George, the old one got posthumously named Tiberius and the new RRT became Jim.
I do not have a name for the ornament beyond TUSAL 2012.
Sadly I've only caught bits of the Star Trek episdoes. I plan on stitching something appopriate and watching all TOS sometime on Netflix.
As of yet the RRT's have yet to be hit with spray adhesive but moving them to be photographed caught some bits coming off so they will need to be.

TUSAL day! On the left we have George (edit 2010) and on the right is Jim (2011). Then my new TUSAL ornament for '12. I think George needs some spray adhesive now, he's starting to lose some bits.
My interesting lasagna is baking away for work's potluck. I say interesting because hubs said there was parm and ground meat in the fridge. There was barely enough parm to mix in the bowl w/cheeses and the ground meat I didn't check the night before and it was still in the freezer. The only meat we had then was smoked sausage. So in went the smoked sausage w/zucchini and the thing got topped with 4 cheese Mexican Cheese Blend. It's edible!
Now off to find the beading in the couch that I lost the other day and maybe watch some Robin Hood and stitch before work.

yup that pretty sums it up right?
I did stitch some on the border for Merry Catmas and made sure it was in the correct location.
Nothing else crafty, I go to the gym Mon, Tues and Wed nights.
I did have to run out this morning to get gas in the car and take my books back. My entire Winter Reads might be audio books. I listened to Truman Capote's Summer Crossing, interesting and I was stunned at the end. I picked up Issac Asimov's Stars like Dust and it's shaping up to be interesting. I had to return Embassytown because someone put a hold on it and I hadn't even read it half way. I still have Steve Martin's An Object of Beauty and the graphic novel version of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere.

Beige-d out with everything but my hose were cute even if you can't see them. The top layer was a floral pattern and I wore regular hose underneath it.

Well I never made cookies. Maybe next weekend.
I helped a friend get her craft room organized since there was another person there with an mind for organizing and can tell me what to do!
Then went out stitching. I took a picture of my ferret stitch from yesterday and the Dolly Mama's I'm working on, but something up with the computer and it won't let me load the pictures :(

It was funny today too because my friend rarely sees me in dresses and both her and her husband commented that I was all dressed up. I wore my gray and blue striped dress with a tan turtleneck and layered my floral hose with a nude pair to keep warm today. Guess I could break out the DVD's to make my camera stand and make a quick picture.

Tomorrow is the New Moon so I'll be sure to take a picture of my TUSAL ornament. My friend wanted to give me her orts but that felt like cheating. But with the ornaments gone for the season I can't buy anymore to make her an ornament.

Moxie Fab Challenge

I did this page for the Moxie Fab The Map to Your Heart Challenge. I took an old TN 2004 map from our honeymoon and cut it into strips to use in my quilling comb and made the corners and the embelishment at the bottom. I put a 7Gypsies brad in the center. PP is Bo Bunny Mamarazi, the U is Making Memories, letters Paper Loft, vellum verse Deja Views that have probably been in my stash as long as the map :p card stock is Die Cuts With A View and the border punch is In Stitches from Fiskars.

This page was done for Friday Fast Track at Scrapping The Moments (also used the U Drive page for a scraplift challenge over there) I found some pictures of Ponder and realized most of the years were prime numbers, quite probably anyway. The puzzle piece was from a swap long ago. Thanks to the lovely ladies who made my pieces. Ferrets was probably the easiest theme I gave them! Well besides FL my last one was Mardi Gras bunnies and I had the ladies scratching their heads! The letters are thickers and I have no idea about the stamp anymore. I bought it a few years ago at Hobby Lobby when my Aunt gave me some money to do a Life Book for her daughter.

Didn't go to Archivers today which was a good thing. I don't need more stuff! :p Well I at least need to do 4 more projects with the quilling comb as it cost 5 dollars and the Drive project was the only one I've done. It's not so much the money as buying something I think is cute and then it sits never used.
I did stitch some on my ferret and last night I did some of the back stitching on Dolly Mama so I'll get pics of those when it's the Full Moon and I post my TUSAL.

Tomorrow I need to bake cookies (going to call a friend and see if I can bake there if she has cookie cutters, went all over the place and no one had plastic rectangular cutters you know if I do it w/a knife it won't look right) if not I'll be over there later to scrap a bit before Saturday Stitch night with my friends. Not sure what project I'll bring. I might bring Dolly Mama to finish her up and plot out the others borders so I can stitch on those at work. Or I might bring my huge Dragon Stitch.

Ok I got all the stitching done today. Now I'll just have to prep a border on one of the other ones to do at work. I just need to do back stitching and french knots, though there's so many on the ribbon I'm seriously thinking beads.

Winter Reads

Today was the first day to sign up for the Winter Reading Program at my local library. I thought it was the 13th but that was the day the Smyrna branch had a special event for the program. Ah well.
I have this book sitting on my kitchen counter all ready renewed once so I'll have to stop stitching and start reading. I love this author but this is no lazy read. You need to concentrate. Last year I read Kraken and though my head had gotten scrambled up like eggs but it was really enjoyable. I can't describe how much I loved reading the book and enjoyed being challenged in my imaginations. (When I read I play a movie in my head so somethings are reread to understand what I'm seeing.)

while I was at the library on Friday returning hubs book, and I thought I was going to sign us up, I looked for a book that had been mentioned over at the Zachary Quinto Community. An Object of Beauty by Steve Martin
I did buy a book at the dollar store on Friday. I don't know if that will be my 3rd book or not. It's about parents who commission a writer to write a book for their daughter that she will love and make her a reader.
I need to read 6 books for my Winter Reading Program. Any other suggestions?

Lots of time in between calls today so got a quite a bit of border done. Then came home and filled in the sign, ornaments, earrings, mouth and then the present. I also did the gold for the hat too. I'll have to be careful stitching that left corner so I line up the borders and don't go past it. Much too late to be staying up but I got on a stitching roll. Once the border is done on here though I'll have to stitch some on the others so I can count out their borders and do them at work. I don't think the backstitching will be an easy thing to do between calls.

My new dress by Merona from Target and my new Vera Wang jeggings I got from Kohls. Tomorrow is cold and rainy so I'll be wearing warm pants!

My progress on Best Stressed. I've done most of the border at work on breaks and lunch. I did the hat and hair at home one day. Some of it was stitching in the car one weekend. So far so good it has some presents to go to her left, the rest of the border, the all the backstitching and the shiny gold thread. Maybe I will have a finish this month. ;)

Trigger Tuesday done today and No Pants Day 14

Over at Moxie Fab Blog they do a Tuesday Trigger to inspire your card making/paper crafting. This weeks was a quilted blanket with multicolored numbers and nearly everyone who had the embossing folder I used on the left used it ;)

This Bingo card is a Tim Holtz's Embossing Folder and I liked it because of the numbers. I had done a birthday card with brads for a bingo and wanted to do something different so I got out the brad template to make a heart and used red rhinestones. I didn't have enough smalls so I had to go back and use the medium and big. Then I inked it with Festive Berries.

Next the Cuttlebug Die everyone loves. I chalked the numbers 143 and then because I'm crazy I poked holes around the numbers and stitched with green thread like on the quilt. The inside says I Love You with the numbers 143 underneath their words.

Another Tim Holtz's Embossing Folder. I chalked the edges and the #4's there's one that got cut off a bit in the pic I see. I couldn't decide what to do with it because I liked the ledger so much so I just found a velum word, cut it out and stapled it on. I didn't want to mess with glue on the uneven surface.

This would have been the last day of my No Pants for January since I had worn each dress and skirt that I had owned. (Minus the wedding, formal and 'snug' skirt) Yesterday I went shopping at Khols hoping I'd find another dress or skirt but they were meh so I bought stockings instead. I have discovered I have more tights/hose to wear than I have dresses/skirts to wear them with. Today hubs wanted to go to Super Target so while he shopped I went and looked at dresses and found a new one I will wear tomorrow. So now I can go half a month without wearing a pair of pants. :) So now after Sunday unless I just really want to I can wear pants. It's nice just knowing my stuff is getting worn rather than sitting on the hangers like they were before I discovered Amber and the No Pants Blog.

Today is Ferret Friday. I got this mug from my friend Flossy Lady for Christmas. The scarf was also a Christmas present from my friend Pinky. Her husband helped her pick it out for me. It came with a matching pair of gloves too. Sweater is from Dillards, just realized a Christmas present too from 3 years ago, and the skirt is from Old Navy that I bought with Birthday money. The tights were last years Christmas present from Adrienne over at Lola Rocks.

Since today was Ferret Friday I post a picture of my ferret over at Zachary Quinto's Community page. If I forget one of the members gets rather cross with me ;) I posted a picture I captured of Ponder when he was resting on me. He never stays anywhere very long and that day he was really content to lay about so I snapped a few pictures. One because he's cute and two I was afraid he was so out of character that it might be a sign of something else. I lost his brother Pratchett in June of last year. I decided that it was finally time to stitch the ferret pattern in Jeanette Crews Designs The OmniBook of Exotic Pets. I bought the book when we still lived in FL and we had just gotten the ferrets. The owner and I were crossing our fingers there would be a ferret because we couldn't tell from the cover. Luckily their was and it looks almost like Pratchett did. I got a good start on it while watching my Pittsburgh Penguins break their losing streak against the FL Panthers 4-1! Yeah Go Pens! Then I wanted to finish out a color so I watched a bit of Dr. Who. This is where I finished off and will leave it for the next Ferret Friday.

Bleh bad pic ah well. Red skirt today with layered tights to keep warm. It snowed today. Luckily I had taken sometime off today. However, because of snow no one wanted to go to stitch so it was cancelled. Been sitting here at home deciding what I was going to do for dinner and watching the ends of Hockey games. Hubs team won. Yeah for him :p my team has been on a loosing streak. Going to go stitch some and watch the end of Hogsfather. I have until tomorrow the Netflix says. :p

A Red day today. A coworker came by and said I see you're wearing red. I got the memo. Looked up he had a red checked shirt on. I said yes but you're not wearing an awesome hat. He admitted he didn't have a hat as awesome as mine.

I love my hat, I love my jacket and my stockings. The hat is from Charming Charlies, the Jacket I got from Lola Rocks Clothing (you can also see her blog in my side bar on the left under fun stuff) I think the hose were from Target. Skirt and Top I've had for ages from Dillards I think they're both Copper Key? maybe.

Well work was work, they had us sign up for OT an hour after our shift or an hour before and after tomorrow. So I worked an hour over tonight and will go in early tomorrow. I guess I'm not getting off early for stitching, oh did I say stitching no I meant appointment yeah that's right. :p OH and forgot my lunch on the counter today so I bought yet another Dr. Pepper and had a meal at McDonald's for my lunch. Also, the joke was afterwards we were slow and they put us in coaching and I got to stitch, yeah we have to work ot when the calls are 2 min in between? At least they were about 2 min for me. Didn't go to the gym since it was later I probably should have. I'll do something Saturday. Friday I'm hoping to go to Archivers in Franklin with a friend or friends :) with a stop by Khols. My MiL gave hubs and I gift cards. Hubs couldn't find anything so I have his. I think this means more skirts or dresses! I have enough skirts and dresses for 2 full weeks. Not including the skort which was for Halloween and is much too short for normal day wear, the velour skirt which is on the snug side of the closet and may be too short and a bit formal, the formal dress I wore for my friends wedding and my wedding dress.

Aww how cute I looked today as I sit here in my work out clothes. I go to the gym Mon-Wed I might be able to start going on Sundays. I think when I first started I worked so late they were closed but now that my schedule is 11-7:30 I know I see cars there. Can't wear a skirt, I think I've only seen tennis outfits with a skirt and you can't do some of those machines in a skirt :p
Dress by Old Navy that I bought with my b-day money. I've had the scarf for a while I think it came from Dillards. I know the tights did I got them last year on clearance. The jean jacket is a little bit warmer than the turquoise top I bought to go with it. It was a freebie from a neighbor I traded some other stuff to go in the yard sale they were going to have.
I did get my Love Quilt Square to the P.O. today and mailed it off. Since I had time to kill I couldn't resist going to Sonic and getting a .99 large soda :p yeah I worked it off so I guess I balanced it out. Except we went in for Pizza at work today ;) Then I sat in my car while I waited for time to go in and stitched on my Dolly Mama piece. Got the shoes done so I could find the bottom border so I could do the mindless stitching during breaks or if the calls were real slow but they weren't that slow today. Lets not think of the callers, I got a real doozy. I'm glad they're not all like that.

Oh goodness late post. Ah well. Today at work was team day. Some football game was on so we were prompted to wear our favorite team colors so I decked myself out in the Pittsburgh Penguins gear. Tried to get Ponder to pose with me but he didn't want to.

Better picture. I layered the tights again with some footless ones to keep warm. Did my denim skirt so I would have some variation but also because I had all ready worn the long black skirt. I think I have one black skirt left I'll have to run through the pics and see what I've worn all ready.

How I manage to take pictures of myself in the morning Seasons 1-3 of LOST all the editions we have of LotR and some other L movies thrown in for good measure.
I did some stitching on break today at work but it was just a little bit of the border since I got it where I don't have to worry about counting.

No Pants Day 8

A bit springy in this skirt. It's the one where I hear Stacey London from What Not To Wear in my head getting me to try on polka dots. Funny is I do have a polka dot top in my clothes that is really cute but when it was first coming out I didn't really like it. This had a lot of other stuff going on besides the polka dots so I got it and this top and a blue one to match it.

When I got back in my room I realized I didn't have my scarf on that I found at Walmart for 3 bux. Probably too graphic and competing with the skirt but I wore it any way.

I took my stitching to work because Sundays are usually a bit slow. I just had to do the border of the sign and the big border. Once the major corners are counted I can just go at it and not have to worry about counting too much. I might take it with me tomorrow I'm not sure. Getting lots of complements from the other people I work with :)
I need to remember tomorrow to renew my books at the library and mail off my Love Quilts Square so it gets there on time. It's been done for months I just never washed it and got it sent off and now it's almost the last min again.

Well can't see my tights as well but at least I didn't cut off my head in this one. ;)
Dress made by my friend Pinky No one wanted it so I got it :) She also made yesterday's dress. I found the fabric and commissioned her to make it for me. Perhaps one day I'll get my sewing machine working and I'll make my own? I still have memories of making the rounded duffel bag in 8th grade :p

Today is the full moon so here's my WIPocalypse

Rivalry by Dimensions wow it looks like I lucked out. I went and found the site link figuring that was easier than trying to track down the picture I took of the front, it's no longer made. Considering I've been stitching on it for 2 Christmases now and I got it on clearance? I'm not surprised. Let see I know I bought it in FL when I was down for Christmas and I had finished what I was working on. Oh I think it has been 3 Xmas because last year I was watching Dr. Who Christmas special and remembering that I had bought it the one before :p It will get done one day. I seem to stitch it during hockey season and when Penguins got knocked out of the playoffs I stopped stitching on it.

Next is Dolly Mama Best Stressed

I stitched her arm, sign and hair while in the car today. We went out to Franklin for the Gun Show and found a grip for my Kahr CW9 so hopefully next time I take it to the range it doesn't give me a callous. Then we went to Archivers. Well I went to Archivers my husband and BiL stayed in the car watching TV or playing games on their tablets while I went in and tried not to buy all the Tim Holt's stuff! I did well there. I only got black foam dots and a quilling comb. Now I can learn spruer. I think that's what it is called I found this blog if you scroll down and look at the butterfly I think the tool can help with that. I couldn't find a picture of the angel wings I had seen and you can do other stuff with the comb too. I do too many crafty things, why do I want to sew again? It'll probably be like when I tried to learn crochet again and decided that was one too many hobbies.

Of course my saving money didn't work when we went to Whole Foods. I saw a CD on check out and had to get it. (Darn marketers putting stuff like that up at the registers) But can't blame the marketers I think I would have been mad if I had been told Hugh Laurie put out a CD of New Orleans Blues called Let Them Talk and I didn't have a place to get it. Of course I just saw it came out in May, I could have had it as a b-day present. Ah well better late than never. OH crap I think I see my next B-day present. I was looking over the website and there's a special edition with 4 more songs and a DVD. ;)

No Pants (sort of) Day 6

I started out the day in blue sweats to take down the xmas stuff.
Then I changed into this to go out and about with Hubs.

When we got done and home I gravitated to my computer and began playing games even though for a January day it was Gorgeous and in the 60's. Hubs came by and said it'd be a nice day to ride my bike. I had thought about it but I would have had to change. Or would I? After finishing my game I went looking for hubs and couldn't find him and I saw the bike just sitting there in the garage. You know what, they make women's bikes with that V because they had originally needed the clearance for their dresses to stay modest. Also had the mental image of an episode of House Hunters and the lady wanted a house close to work and she was all dressed in her work clothes and pumps that she hooked in the heels into the bike pedals. (no idea how she then got off the bike) So what the heck, I didn't want to ruin my hose though so on came some thermal pants and my regular work out pants.

Me after my ride. Felt good.

Then cleaned up my room a bit and got ready to craft over at Scrapping the Moments Friday Fast Track
So I scrapped a page in an hour an half which is a bit slow for me, I can usually get one in an hour but knowing I had the time I played around with my new Fiskars Interchangeable punches.

I used some Bella Blvd all Inclusive papers I had one last year, Fiskars stamps for the butterflies and Tim Holt's Distress Ink and Embossing powder in Tea Dye. OH and some beige 1/8th inch quilling paper in beige to thread through on the title. The background card stock it Core'dinations. I had cut out the middle of the paper to practice with the punch but I couldn't figure out how to corner with the dang thing.

Still listening to Penguins play hockey and they're losing :( Still one period left to go. So going to file the nail I cut while I was scrapping and stitch a little bit during the last period. Then maybe I'll eat something for dinner.

Late in posting because I thought I would take pictures at my stitching gathering but I left the camera in the car.

My craftyness yesterday. I made a card for my MiL who's B-day was today. Hubs finally got stamps and I got it mailed off.

I stitched a tiny bit of the pink ribbon at work during break. I had nice complements from some of my coworkers asking me where I got it and what I'm going to do with it. I told the one most of my stuff ends in a pile of too finish. I think with 6 of these Dolly Mama Christmas patterns that I might make a wall hanging though. I just need to fix my sewing machine. I stitched a bit of the yellow shirt in the middle and everything on the left at Shoney's when I got to see my stitching friends. Next Thurs I asked for about an hour or so off early so maybe I can join them at the beginning and no one will feel obliged to wait for me while I eat.

Tomorrow is the day I might not wear a dress at first so I can get the Christmas lights down and put all the stuff up!

OK a little awkward on the pose because I was trying to get my hose to show. But much better than the pic I took of myself on the couch! My friend gave me the headband for Christmas and I love the colors but it's also the colors of the company I work for so I decided to go all out today. Yesterday some of my coworkers joked that I looked like I worked for the client. So my headband if from Target, silk shirt is Sag Harbor bought from JCPenny probably, skirt My Michelle so Dillards, plain black hose and layered with yellow fishnet. Not sure they were yellow and fishnet so I grabbed them. Could have been Hot Topic because I think I got it the year I went as a yellow goth girl for Halloween. No I don't think I have a pic of that. My dayglow orange and yellow wig from Target was awesome though!

This was my crafty endeavor yesterday. Made a quick belated b-day card. It will be further belated because we still don't have enough stamps! I'll need to make another one for my MiL too. Her birthday is this month.

OK I need to get the Christmas stuff cleaned off so I can stack the DVD's and take pics on the stairs again. You can't really see my black skirt in the picture but you can kinda see the texture on the hose.

Last night I did some quick crafting and added the year to my ornament like Mouse
suggested. I think it looks good. I thought of doing TUSAL on it or 2012 but it was just a little too big.

Tonight I'll go to the gym and remember to take my clothes in with me to work so they aren't freezing out in the car :p Hope to get some other little crafty thing done but first I need to clean before getting out to work.

I snapped this picture before work. Amber of No Pants had comment on a picture of this dress when I had worn it with a tan turtleneck that a mustard color would look really good. I finally found this shirt at Target and later found some mustard color stockings in the 5.00 bin. So I layered them with my tan textured tights to be a little warmer today. Worked out fine at work but it was 30 when I left and frackin cold! Tempted to pick up sweater tights when we swung by Target this evening.

Haven't crafted yet and I should get to bed. I'll find something real quick to do before I head off.

First Post of 2012

I took pictures yesterday so I have some of Jim and George. Jim is much smaller but in May of this year I took a new job. My hours cut into going stitching on Thursdays and much of my other stitching time.

And my friend had given us little ornaments with her orts. Which I almost thought of doing myself and then I was glad I went with tinsel since she gave us these. I have a big square one though that I think I'll put my orts into rather than make another rectangular rainbow tribble.

Here is a picture of me today. As the first day of the month I follow along with No Pants and wear my skirts and dresses. I put her Veel Liefs blog in my Fun Sites list. I did have hubs take a picture of me but he failed to get my stockings so I took this one on timer function.

It's just now 8 o'clock. Finally caught up on the Dr. Who Christmas Special so now I just have to wait for next season. Still enough time for me to get crafty tonight so dragging out some stitching and watch something else off my Netflix queue.

I need to get my last pic of Jim up. I stopped posting around what June July? He looks to be a pretty good rectangular rainbow tribble but I think George from last year is a little bit bigger. I'm still debating on creating another rectangular rainbow tribble or filling an ornament that I got from Hobby Lobby for decoration next year.

When I got to Winter Snowman which was a bell pull series in Cross Stitch and Needlework 2010 that reminded me somewhere was the mag for Autumn that I didn't start. So I have 10 things I have to start this year too. It was almost 9 because I didn't have enough pages but I did front and back of the ornaments. Which should technically be WIP's because I did make them for my Mom, Dad, Granny and I did finish friend 2, and an aunt and uncle. The Aunt and Uncle I think need beads and finishing. One of the friends one I washed and the overdye ran so it's not good and the other friend that I made it for fell off the face of the earth. I guess if I ever see her or hear from her she'll get one but I've started communicating some more with my other friend so maybe I'll redo hers :p
Anyhoooo Here is the 10 things I want to start this year.

9 and 10 were my Christmas presents from my friend. I don't think the kit is called that but it's wine themed and last year she got me the apron and I just bought the thread over Thanksgiving. Everything else I pretty much have thread for, might need to get more fabric but I won't buy any new patterns! Now the hard part will not be dling free ones! London is a freebie pattern I will search for the link. I don't think I have anything for it yet. Ok that appears to be it I think I printed off Tower Bridge and one other one but I don't know which I will stitch yet.

Should I be crazy and do my own SAL (stitch a long) in May for the Olympics? Surely someone else out there has one all ready? Well I didn't find a SAL but I did find some patterns.

Ok this blog post is long enough. I'm going to take a picture of Jim and all the Christmas Decorations. I work from 8-4:30 tomorrow (cross your fingers for Early Release! No one call your cell service provider tomorrow :p ) so when I get home I hope to craft. My desire is to craft something every day. Even if it's just putting 10 stitches in a project.

Ok I promise to get on here more. I've missed several TUSAL check ins but Jim has been growing a bit. A little green with all the stitching from Joy and now I'm working on a sampler and had to tear out a lot of green. I had a friend buy the last skein of the color I needed last night and it's of course different than what I had. But ahwell that's what happens when you run out of over dyes.
I need to wash Joy and get it pressed and then I'll share the picture. Right now I have to run out and buy my friend a B-day present, then we're meeting for pedicures and lunch with the girls :)

Works been crazy and I haven't been on here since June! No TUSAL Pics I'll get one after today's stitching. Today I need to wash and press Dora so she's ready to go off on Monday but I'm going to start another square! I'm insane I tell you! But the girl loves Hockey and I can't help it. Though I could not find a hockey pattern that would be 9X9 in my stash :( I did find these.
This is here theme at Love Quilts. She wanted lime green and navy. I can change the top joy to more lime green and navy. As well as the Joy Angel. Or I can do the Faith Angel with shades of green rather than red. Then there's the total rework of the music one. I did find one that said Beautiful and Smart in shades of red and pink but the same problem with the music one is changing those colors to the same values in lime green and navy.

Actually after posting this here I really don't want to do the music one :p pick between the angels and the other joy! :D

Eek it's that time! Dusting off my blog a month later. I haven't been stitching much since I started a new job 4 weeks ago. I'll be doing call center stuff whoo hoo!
I took my stitching with me the other day to try and do during breaks but I don't think it's too feasible, not supposed to have paper on the floor :p But My Dora Square for Love Quilts did get worked on. Forgot Jim so the orts just got thrown in the bag ah well.

Tomorrow is my 7th Anny. Which reminds me some stitching needs to get in on the 10 year anny present if I'm ever going to get done in 3 years!

Well I hope to have more for you this Month. I've started a new Love Quilt. I told myself I was going to wait but it was Dora Princess and I found a pretty JPEG and made my own pattern so I hope it turns out OK.

My Birthday party is next Saturday. I had hoped for a Friday 13th party for my Halloween theme but I started a new job and work interfered.

Hopefully I'll have some awesome party pictures to show! Remind me to take pics people!

Now I have to run, get gas and head to my friends son's baseball game.

Love Quilts has new children up for 2011.

I'm trying to print off an image of Dora with a grid playing around with photo size now so I can get the grid to cover the whole pictures.

The little girl wants Princess and Dora with orange and purple. I found a picture of Dora in a yellow princess dress with pink and blue trim so I'm going to make the trim orange and purple.

I might go really crazy and try to do 2 quilt squares by September 1st! The other theme is pigs and my friend, who's last name is Bacon' might have a pig pattern that will work.

There is also another child who wants a Precious Moments and little girl quilt.

If you love to cross-stitch please considering stitching a quilt for a child who would love to have one.

Here are 2 book marks I've made so far for Stitching for Literacy. I was working on the Sunflower yesterday. I don't normally stitch while I work unless it's planning but yesterday was like Friday because they are out today, also they had state testing so everything was a little more relaxed. The kids were playing games and I sat by the computer in case problems arose with the movie so I got out my stitching. Three of the students came by to see what I was doing and ask what I was knitting. ;) They all really liked it. One boys 1st asked if I'd make them one :D but I told them how long it took me to make and I wouldn't be able to make one for everyone. I explained what it was for and then he said if they did that here he would pick the one I was working on because he knew who made it. :D

It's that time in the Lunar Calendar!

He's looking pretty good. Some orts were put in by my friend at the Thursday stitch and I need to get a little baggie for the bookmarks I'm doing because I keep that in a bag in my purse. So some orts have escaped the Rectangular Rainbow Tribble Maker.

I finished this in March on our way back up from FL.

This was one of the first patterns I bought when I learned to Cross-stitch and I'm glad it's done! Now it will just sit in the too be finished pile :p

I'm working on some bookmarks now for Stitching for Literacy. See stitching blogroll on the left for details. Their book this month is Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book. I love anything Neil Gaiman and have read this book multiple times all ready and listened to him read it via his blog. Also, to the left in the Fun sites ;)

My friends and I went to the free 'donations appreciated' Shakespeare in the Park last September. I used some Wilderness paper I won from Colorbok and by the time I got all the pictures on there it looked to busy with anything else.

I was working on this page for Tally Scrapper's Baby You're a Firework Challenge. When I just couldn't get the elements moved around to my liking. So I went looking for a sketch and found Page Maps! This is a sketch for their Webster Pages Challenge. It even had clouds on it :)

Here's my Page. I wanted the first lyric 'Do you ever feel like a plastic bag?' Because I knew I had pictures of Pratchett in a plastic bag. I dug through the plastic bag and found one like he was in and Modge Podged it to some card stock. I used the letters from my Tim Holtz's Grunge Board to trace the letters. Then I cut out the rest for the background.

Tally Scraper Love Quilt Stitcher

I finished a LO for Tally Scrapper's Survivor Challenge.
I asked the ZQC to do an orange picspam so I could get hotness photos :) I wanted to use my vellum quote I'm kind of a big deal but I should have backed it on orange rather than hope alcohol ink would pop that much, or put it over the grunge board maybe but once it was stuck it wasn't coming up. The background paper is from color bok I needed a tree and some buttons so this pattern worked out well.

Then I stitched my name on the love quilt square going to Alexander Y. This will be the third square I've done. I just need to get it washed and sent out.

Fat Tuesday

Ok not really Laissez Le Bon Temps Rouler over here but I finished another of my Mardi Gras themed stitching. I only didn't get the big mask done. Then I finished them into magnets. The Flur de Lis I did with my good magnet cartarage for my Xyron and the other 2 with the bad one thinking if I could peel off the laminate and just use the magnet it would be ok. Actually once I cut the Flur de Lis I was able to peal off the laminate just fine. Then I found out my mirror in the bathroom isn't magnetic :p I'm going to have to figure out something else to fix them on there with but I was able to put them on the fridge for a minute.

Well the Pittsburg Penguins are Laissez Le Bon Temps Rouler because they just scored another goal! Whoo hoo.

Hrm maybe to put myself more in the mood I'll go up and get one of my feather boas and trail feathers all over the house ;)

Page Maps Challenge Basic Grey Sketch

Ok finally got a better picture of this LO before the deadline was completely up. I used American Crafts Shabby Chic papers, buttons, 'the' Remarks stickers and 'sky' Thickers. The yellow scalloped card stock is DCWV. The other scalloped border is done with a Fiskars border punch with some tape on some scrap paper. The butterfly transparency is Colorbok. I think the pearls might be Kaiser Craft and the 'in' is Making Memories. Felt butterfly from ? Quote is a sheet of stickers who's brand name escapes me now but they do a lot of sticker quotes in themes. (Not Quick Quotes I know that)

Looking for a Free Alpha pattern

Hey readers of the loopy trail. I have finished my space ship pattern for the Love Quilt! However they ask that you stitch your name and your city somewhere on the square. I'm looking for a free alphabet pattern that's small but has a little spacey feel. I know that's hard and can mean different things to people but not looking for a Times New Roman or old Gothic font. Maybe something like a digital read out? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm currently in FL and I've brought 3 other projects to work on. My two samplers that I started and the Cleaning the House one. However, the pattern for Cleaning the House is back in TN :p So I will have to e-mail my BIL and get him to find it and scan it. Also, was hoping to buy some threads for another project but I left that pattern and I don't know if I can accurately tell BIL where the book is in my room! So if anyone has the Leisure Arts Exotic Pets book and can find the ferret pattern I need to know what Krineks are required :D

I have some photos of my other projects that I did during my February Crush which I ended last Sunday. Just coming down to FL so quickly and then finding out I'll be staying all week I haven't had time to post pics.

A PSA to myself again.

Reminding myself yet again that it's called COUNTED cross-stitch and not Eyeball cross-stitch. I was working on the Dolly Mama Best Stressed pattern and I worked the red in the left and then counted down to the bottom and the right. However because this has back stitch I thought the back stitch was the grid and 10 stitches high but it's 9! So it's now one row too far down and one row too far to the right. Looking at it to figure out how bad filling in is going to be. The right might have to come out since its going to mess up where the torn paper is. I'm trying to figure out how much it will mess up if the bow is tampered with or the area around it.

What would you do? Tear it or Leave it?

All right continuing my Crush

On Thursday I did the Fluer de Lis

On Friday I started the big mask but don't have a picture :p these will be magnets for my bathroom.

Saturday was National Stitch in Public Day. Instead of another Mardi Gras pattern I had bought a pattern on Thursday from the LNS because it was cute and for a friend. I never knew that a little 48X48 inch pattern could be so dang infuriating! (I'm not posting a picture yet because my friend sees my blog and would know it's for her.) However if you check out Hinziet the corrections for the pattern are now up ;) Yes at least the first problem was not mine! I was pulling my floss and I flipped open the pattern to check how much of one color there was because I didn't have the exact number. Then I see there are letters in the pattern that are not on the back!! I called the number and she answered quickly and said she'd get back to me. She called me back within the half hour with the needed corrections! Great service!

Then I was packing my materials and fabric when it hit me that I cut the fabric wrong! Luckily the piece I had used had come off the end of a much used piece but still. I had the design figured for about 3.5 inches and I added 2 inches for the extra but ONLY 2 inches I forgot it should be 4 for top and bottom :p So I cut another piece and another of the endy bits ended up being a 7X7 piece! So far so good.

I get to the mall where I'm meeting my friends and we have some lunch. Then we go around the mall trying to find a place for all of us to stitch comfortably. I moved another chair closer so we all wouldn't be squished. Only one gentleman stopped and commented because his lady did some stuff like that. So we gave him the information to get to the LNS. At least some people did see us and look down on us as they were going to the 2nd story in the Elevator.

After the hour or so I came home and put on Netflix and watched Bones and Jim Henson's the Storyteller. As I was stitching I started doing the border and noticed it didn't come out right. So I checked and the border was fine but one of the things I stitched I counted one up and over from where I was supposed to :p and of course I counted something else off of it so it all came out. It wasn't much so I thought it was fine and kept right on. Then I flip over the chart to check a color and realize I was supposed to do over 3 for the letters. I only have one letter and a bit done so I decided to rip it out and do it over three. I should have left well enough alone!! I got all the letters done and was stitching the rest of the bottom border and guess what. When I restitched I put the second letter over one stitch to the right :p Insert Charlie Brown ARG here. So I left it. I think I'll just have to figure out another border to stitch because I'm not ripping out all those letters!

Passing the Give Away love

February Crush

I was too late for the January Crazy challenge so yesterday I remembered to start for February. I'm calling it February Crush Challenge but it's just me :p so just work on what you started in January or if you missed out like me you can start now and just start a new project until Valentine's Day :)

I bought these patterns and fabric back in 2004 when I first started stitching. I finally got most of the over dyed floss around my B-day when a friend game me a gift certificate.

Here is my first pattern. I need to dig out my first piece ever to show just how much I Like the bunnies ;)

This is what I did last night watching Hockey (I did stitch a little of my Hockey stitch since I got in the floss I needed from Dimensions)

Look Words! and not some blobby bit of a snow covered tree!

Tonight's pattern.

I see these are numbered or in a series so now I'm wondering if I started with one or two.

More words! 3 words seems to be it for a hockey game though last night I did stitch some of the Hockey stitch but the game went into a shoot out so I had more time to stitch!

While I'm at it since I believe New Moon is tonight or tomorrow the TUSAL!

Most of the papers are by Colorbok Woodhaven. The gray papers sticking out of the photos are something else. The stamp that says Family is Colorbok Woodhaven, too.

House Mouse Challenge Hearts

The House Mouse Challenge was hearts but I didn't feel like doing a card. Somewhere I have Valentine's Day cards I made last year stashed. So I decided to hunt for my heart shaped tins that I've kept for a few years now.

I decided to use some decoupage tissue in gold.

Getting all the edges

Drying on top of Granny's old sewing machine, while I fix up the front.

For the Front I stamped House Mouse Lilac Bouquet onto plain white cardstock in black Stayz On. I cut it out using Fiskars Shape Express 5 inch heart. I trimmed around the image so the background L would show. I colored it in with Pebbles Inc. I Kan' dee Pearlescent and Regular chalks. The Purple Heart is made from Core'dinations white wash cardstock, embossed with Cuttlebug alpha and sanded with Tim Holtz block sander (I <3 that sander) I attached the hearts with glue dots and then attached it to the still drying tin with some Glue Arts cut it yourself foam squares. I <3 those too because you can cut them to size so you don't have to use a bazzilion squares to stick something big down.

A close up so you can see the shine of the chalks. I did the background in white so some of the purple picked up on the bottom but eh whatcha gonna do.

And now this crafter is missing her hockey game! I hope you enjoyed my tin.

With Versus carrying a hockey game tonight I managed to get some more done on the tree. There are also carrying a game tomorrow, Wednesday and the All Star Game this weekend so I'm wondering if all the tree on this side will be done :) Maybe I can get this thing done by Stanley Cup Finals? Unless my team gets knocked out again and I don't want to see Hockey for a while :p

Stitch Saturday and Hockey Afternoon Sunday

After a few snow days I finally got out to see my friends and do some stitching. I finished up the star and have some more of the rocket done. I think I'm going to run out of 797 but my friend checked and she has a lot so yeah!! I just hope it matches close to what I have because I'm using some old DMC.

Today my hubby's team (Flyers) played hockey on NBC so I watched the game with him and did some stitching. I got some blue in the tree and found a spot of gray that had to be frogged. On the Rocket and some of my other stitching I make mistakes and go 'eh I'll fill in around it' but this one bugs me and I take it out and redo. I just hope I have enough thread!

Stitching Tonight!

Hockey Stitch Progress

This was my progress last night while I watched the pre-Golden Globes show and flipped back and forth from the Golden Globes to the Nashville hockey game. I stitched dark and light gray on the tree and then since I didn't want to move my hoop I worked on the white.

No stitching done today. I'm just not feeling crafty. I think I'll go pick a book off the pile and read for a bit.

No Stitchy or Scrappy updates but I am going crazy.

I planned on some stitching today but instead I tidied up around where all my stitching stuff is. I put all the stuff that's done stitched and needs to be finished in one bag. I set up floss for a little project and started gathering floss for my winter snowman pattern. Cross-stitch and Needlework magazine had put out patterns for snowman themed door hangers for the four seasons and I've stitched the spring and summer one. I bought fabric for the fall and winter ones and I can't find the pattern for the fall snowman. I did find the summer snowman bag of floss which had the krienik I bought to jazz up the words for the fall snowman but I can't find the magazine! I think I took the whole thing because it was September issue and it was a lot of Halloween stuff. When I was stitching the spring one my friend had a subscription to the magazine so she gave me her magazines or for the winter one I tore out the pattern because other people wanted stuff that was in it. It's just bugging me I don't remember where I put the magazine! It's probably like the orange in my pattern staring me right in the face.

What the? Well at least half the blue is done.

I stitched the little star and asteroid over Christmas and you would have think I would have looked the picture of my pattern and the stitching and realized I had stitched the wrong color? I looked at it today and said to myself why isn't there a orange dot? OH it's supposed to be BLUE or blueish gray like what's on the left of the bottom flame. Apparently I read the numbers to the left side of the symbol :p I guess the star and asteroid that will be on the left side will have some extra orange and a dot spaced out there somewhere just to balance it out.

On a good note the blue on the right side is done. I'm hoping I have another skein of it though because it's looking mighty skimpy!

I'm a Fiskateer, even though it's been ages since I visited the forum!, and when Fiskars was still carrying paper lines I signed up for surveys to say what I liked and didn't. They also have them for their tools. Then Fiskars dropped the paper lines to just focus on tools so the paper lines went to Color Bok and now I do their surveys. If you do the survey within a time period are in the first 50 or 100 whatever requirement they give you they send you stuff! I had actually gotten a box a while ago and I have some of it to a friend and kept some stickers and stamps for myself. However this is all MINE!

It's an album kit with papers and punch-outs. I remember when this came out and I wanted it so bad but I kept myself from buying it because I couldn't think of anything I would scrap with it. Now I'm going to take pictures to scrap with it! Or make cards, or just make something for the heck of it!

Today's Stitches

My friend had Cabin Fever so I had her pick me up for lunch today because I figured she had a little more experience driving on ice than I did. Not really but she wasn't freaking out like I would have been. We went out to eat sushi. Here's my yummy bento box.

Then we went 'window' shopping. Yeah there might have been an oops on the look but don't buy but my friend made sure I'd use it and I made sure she'd use her stuff too ;)
After the 'window' shopping she had to run by my place so I could get my stitching so I could stitch while we watched a movie at her place. I forgot my scissors so I had to use giant ones and also got into the fact that I had three pairs of scissors for Cross-stitch. She was like you need 3 pairs of scissors for cross-stitch? I told her no but explained the three scissors I had and that I used to have 4 but one got lost (and it had a big fob on it too I was mad!) I also had to explain fobs to her and she didn't get that either. She had to look it up on the after I told her it wasn't any more pointless than tea cozies or knitted ipod covers! (Yeah she had to look up both of those too :D )
So here's what I got done on my Love Quilt Square while watching Easy A (hilarious btw) and half of Despicable Me! (also, hilarious and family friendly!) {We watched half of the movie because my friend likes the It's So Fluffy! line where they 'win' the Unicorn}

Then she dropped me off back home and later on was the hockey game so I went back and did the top of the tree that I had to frog yesterday and started on some light gray too. My team won 5-2 so I'm taking that as a good sign that I didn't mess up anywhere else.

Tomorrow is yet another snow day :p I'm going to try to clean some of the house before I watch movies and sit on my butt. Maybe I'll even clean my craft room and scrapbook! (gasp my other friend will do a happy dance if I scrapbook!)

Spreading the Word and I hate Frogs

I was going to post a picture tonight but I realized I have only 2 movies in the C section and then I'm done so I'll wait a bit on showing the big piece. Then I was taking out my stuff to continue my hockey stitch while watching his team play. Not only did my team lose last night but they gave me a frog. So I had to undo the gray at the top of the tree. Luckily that's the only bit on that piece. I have a few frogs sitting on the big stitch but I'm ignoring them. It's just background wall and who cares if a stalactite is crooked. A tree might look discombobulated or about to fall on the kids or the house or off put how to frame the darn thing so that frog was a bright red amazon tree frog that had to be dealt with and now I don't feel like stitching.

Tomorrow is yet another snow day. So I'll be doing some cleaning since I've been mostly sitting on my tush and stitching. Then I'm going to brave a bit of street to get to a friends house who is suffering cabin fever.

Hockey Stitch 2

Here is the Christmas Stitch from last year in February. The only time I actually posted that month! That has the picture of what the project will look like.

Last night I stitched while watching my team lose :p No Hockey today. I have to finish reading a book to get it back to the library and then I might go over to a friends house so she can help me sew something :)

Hockey Stitch

This was last year's Christmas Stitch that I was supposed to work on one week out of every month. I had gotten it in December and started on a bit of it during Christmas before that and hoped the challenge would help me continue. I also stitched on it during Hockey games (or more accurately the darn commercials they replay every break)
Then came May and my team was in the Stanley Cup playoffs and lost to one of the representatives teams in piece. So didn't want to stitch on it after that :p

Hubs was upstairs watching his hockey game so I figured that was a good time to pull this out and start stitching again. My team plays later tonight so if I listen to the game I might get more done on it! If I find a feed to watch it, it will be stitch, stitch, hold needle in air until there's a stop in play, oh darn where was I?

I don't have another container so I tried dumping this out and was kinda surprised that it kept it's shape so well. Kinda like a cheese mold or something.

I love it and it's sitting under my computer monitor. It's kinda like a rectangular tribble.

Tomorrow I will do my first stitching of the New Year so next months TUSAL will have some new rectangular tribble beginnings.

This is the progress on my Love Quilt square but looking at some of what's been submitted they are more realistic looking. This was all I had for patterns about space. So I might have the one funky square in the quilt if they use it :p Maybe if I stitch really fast I can do the flying saucer and they can match!

Unknown Underwear Soldier

I used the September Sketch from Julie at Let's Scrap. She probably didn't think she'd get a LO about an unknown underwear soldier!

I also did this for the Scrap U Assignment at Scrap Friendzy I printed off the music sheets and tea stained them. I had done some random music notes so I punched and made some pleated flowers. Then I knew what pics I wanted so I printed another sheet and wrote out the lyrics to God Bless My Underwear. (Again poor challenge makers probably didn't think they'd be getting this.) The papers were BoBunny MamaRazzi and the cardstock is DCWV. The button on the flower was in my stash from my Granny's buttons. The journaling says If Pictures Could Talk...they could tell me who this unknown underwear soldier is from my Grandfather's photos. Oh and I have a vellum quote Armed & Dangerous on there from Colorbok. I used Tim Holtz photo negative die cut for the black cardstock.

Page Maps Challenge Daffy VS Pratchett

Page Maps is having a contest that ends TODAY. So I quickly made this LO last night. I used word to put a white border around the pictures and add thought bubbles and lighting. Then I made different splats and lightning in word and changed the gradient and patterns and cut all those little shapes out!

The shiny background is DCWV At Home collection. That yellow thing I have no idea!! Pinky gave it to me a while back and I thought it just worked well :D There names are in Thickers by American Crafts. I love Big Lots! Those packages were about 2 bux a piece :D

Furry Friends

I did this for Ch{all}ange Masters Week 1 Book of Me Challenge.

The challenge was "What is it about your house that makes it a home?"

The tag was made by Beth W for me in a pet swap. I used a chipboard house from Crayola and covered it paper. The roof was punched with Fiskars Upper Crest, layered, sanded and inked. The furry friends was a rubon I've had for ages from My Minds Eye. I embossed the little bits of paper with the new cuttlebug typset. I sanded the P for Pratchett and Ponder, the H for home and S for Steve my hubby who I managed to snap a picture of.The red cardstock was trimmed with a stamp deco edge trimmer. I used a May 2010 Page Map for my sketch.

Wow over a month it's been! Thank goodness for Page Maps Blog having a Sketch Contest to get me jumpstarted again!

I visited my parents at the beginning of July and found these awesome papers by Bo Bunny called Mamarazi. Scrapbooking from the Inside Out has some of the papers in their Discovery Kit.
With the old cameras and travel papers I thought this would be wonderful paper for my Grandfather's old photos. So I searched around my parents house and got with my Uncle to find old photos and I scanned them into my parents computer. Snapfish was having a sale so I got a good deal on the photo prints too :) It's nice not having to use cardstock for all my pictures!

The Metalic background is from DCWV At Home cardstock stack. It matched really well with the Bo Bunny and was on clearance at Michaels. The ribbons were things I had in stash. I inked the white ric rac with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Frayed Burlap. The edges of the bracket paper and the PP were distressed and inked with Faded Jeans Distress Ink. The buttons were from Pinky's Stash that she gave to me. The metal tag was in my stash and I inked it with lettuce, Gold Metalic and a brown Alchol Ink. The photo slide had been in my stash from a swap probably when I still lived in FL. The letters are American Craft Thickers found at Big Lots. I used funTape and Daisy D's rub ons around the edge (Daisy D's went in the trash afterwards) but the Daisy D's regular rubon's worked well under the title on the pictures. I used a scrap of brown cardstock, punched it with Fiskars Upper Crest, ran it through my crimper, trimmed it, sanded and inked it with Faded Jeans and put it under the left photo.

Anniversary Card

Moved the card so I could remember all that I used and the darn bow fell off again :p will be off to find more glue at least anniverary isn't until Saturday!

I used a vintage playing card image from Dover Sampler and colored it in with a red watercolor pencil. Added a red heart button over one of the hearts on the card. I used my Leave it to Weaver Fiskars Border punch and then used red Kaiser Craft Ribbon. I made a bow with the ribbon and some silver twine stuff from my stash. I learned how to make the bow from a Fiskars Tutorial on NSD. The black cardstock I pulled from stash and embossed with Flur De Lis cuttlebug folder and filed down. The metal hearts I colored with cranberry alchol ink and attatched to the black cardstock and hten to the card.

Magical Crafts Fortnightly challenge - use metal. I used the hearts.

Totally Paper Crafts - use monochrome I used red with white and black.

City Crafter Blogspot - use ribbons and bows. I wove my ribbon and made a bow if it would stay on :p

Tuesday Tagger - use texture. I feel my embossing w/filing and ribbon add texture to the card. They reminded me they had a prize from Tanda Stamps. I hadn't heard of them before but these stamps look awesome!

Little Red Wagon - alter an embelishment. I altered the metal with alcohol inks.

Whoopsy Daisy Challenge - ribbons and bows.

ABC Challenge - V is for Vintage. I used an vintage playing card image from Dover Sampler.

HB card

A friend of mine gave me the leftover of her Treasured Scrapbooking August 2009 card kit and i was able to make this card from the instructions.
The papers used from the kit are Pink Paislee Irresistible and Entrhralling. I used some Bazill Orange cardstock (not sure of the exact name), blue cardstock that I embossed with Distress Stripes in my cuttlebug. I punched with my Fiskars Scallop Boarder. The border on top is FunTape by kikiArt and I tried punching holes to make it look like stitching but you can't see it too well in the picture. I also did some Orange Marmalade Distress Stickle dots. I didn't have the border punch they used so I added some yarn! Finally getting that yarn on projects ;)

For Creative Inspirations challenge I stitched and did French Knots on the flower.
Off The Wall Craftiness for the color palate.
Everything but the Kitchen Sink challenge I used Mango nailpolish on the grungeboard H & B.

Wow four cards in one day and I stitched while watching Bourne Supremacy!

These cards are combining two challenge. Silhouettes for Bah! Humbug! and the #66 card sketch from Card Patterns.

OK card details, plain white card stock for base and textured card stock by paper studio for the front that I Glimmer Misted Midnight Blue (once I transfer ed to a mini mister because it wouldn't spray :le sigh:). Tulle I had in my stash it's .25 yards that the cashier misread as $0.25 I found out later! I bunched it up and taped it to the backside of the card front. The die cuts were from a Fiskateer swap thanks to whoever punched out the boatload of those! Brads and Ribbon from my stash. I also glued the snowflakes together with Frosted Lace stickles. The image I found on Word!! I was so happy because I really wanted to do a Night Before Christmas Theme so I made 4 images to not waste paper and then I typed up the sentiment and the inside greetings. They were trimmed and inked with Color Box Petal Palette in blue and the sentiment was punched with my Upper Crest border punch. I need to find a good adhesive for the image because after a while it's popped off the tulle but I'll wait till everything is dry before messing with it anymore.

A Crafty Little Place Challenge

Ah well 2 posts in one day again! But this challenge deadline was coming up so I finally got inspired to do this card! I used the sketch over at A Crafty Little Place I didn't know what image I was going to use and I found this diecut from my stash oh who knows how long ago? It was part of a diecut image swap. So I inked it 1st with SEI Lagoon, ran it through the Cuttlebug Swirls pattern, filed it and inked it with Color Box Sky Blue. The papers are Imaginisce Splash Dance Ocean Motion. Then I rummaged through my sticker drawer and found 3 clear circles and whalla! A card for my card stash :D

House Mouse and Dirty Scraps

House Mouse Blog Hop and Challenge to do a goodbye card. I thought of making my friend a card who's going on vak and I'm taking care of the dog. She gave me these cool papers and ribbons so I decided to use those and grabbed my mouse and camera stamp. I used a Becky Fleck Card Map March 2010.

Next up a 2 page 8.5X11 LO for Dirty Scraps Serenity Challenge. Usually I take a walk on the Greenway because it's more peacefull to look at than my neighboorhood. However on my Birthday they were doing a clean up so I went for an hour to help. I made myself a little sticker too. On the clean up I met a turtle. While resting there was a bug and a ladybug so I put some thickers around them or pointing to them so you can see them in the picture. I inked the circle aroudn the turtle with Brick Red Distress Ink and the other two I used cranberry alchol ink. I used Cosmo Cricket Get Campy for the papers, flowers and ribbon were from my friend and I used my Glue Arts ribbon adehesive for the green ribbon. The green dots are Peeled Paint Distress Stickles. Double Page Map from Becky Fleck that I turned to do a top to bottom LO.

Just Christmas and Birthday Cards

I used the sketch from Just Christmas and Birthday Cards to make this card for my Aunt's Birthday on the 17th but just haven't posted it up yet.

I used Colorbok papers,Inkadinkado inchie stamps, orange brads I had in my stash, Prima Flowers and Orange Distress Stickles. The bottom border was done with Fiskars Leave it to Weaver and I used a strip from the Colorbok papers for ribbon because my brown ribbon was too dark.

I loved the challenge! I love those colors and it was perfect for a Thank You card for my friend who gave me a nice gift on my B-day.

Here was the challenge color palate.

This is my card! I used some 8X8 cardstock I had to cut the base and the yellow flower sheet was from an album kit I bought to make my cousin her Life Book. So hurray for using stash! The flowers are imaginisce that my friend Pinky gave me ;) I dug around my brad stash to find some cute brads. The green ribbon she also gave me and I used a tutorial I found on fiskars for NSD part of it showed how to tie the bow. The chipboard sticker is from Thickers and I inked it with Tim Holtz Alchol ink in Lettuce and Sunshine Yellow. The blue letters are also Thickers. I used a Becky Fleck Card Map from March 2010.

Tomorrow morning I hope the rain stays away so I can pick up garbage on the Greenway. Yup that's right it's my B-day and I'll be picking up other people's trash! But I've been going for walks out there and I can't stand it anymore! I was about prepared to go out with a garbage bag myself but it will be a lot more fun with a bunch of other people :D

I did a card for another Becky Fleck Challenge! I changed the orintation of the card and used the Colorbok Woodhaven papers that I won off their survery. I sprayed the paper with my minimister w/some perfect pearls added in. The House Mouse Stamp I colored in with my pearlescent chalks. The border punch is Fiskars scalloped edge. Thanks to the Fiskars site for posting NSD vids thanks to Leah and Joanna I learned how to tie the bow I used ;) I also did the inside of the card :D This will be nice to send someone on a rainy day but right now it's beautiful outside so I'm going to go for a walk. Lets see if I can drag hubby out!

Becky Fleck scrapbook kit club LO contest

I was looking for pics of me in 8th grade but remembered we were 8 years apart so I found one of me about kindergarten age. Iron Scrapper Challenge

Had to use one of the pictures provided. Looking for a pic to go with the keyhole I came across the Coraline poster so went online to find the Jasper Fforde book cover. Then I found book quotes and decided that a quote would be good over the keyhole pic so I changed the color and added a text box :D There were more quotes I liked so I made a library pocket with my Hot of the Press template and made some tags. The keys came from Thickers, grungeboard and metal pieces I had. The keyhole was grungeboard and I found some heart brads since I used the heart pin I had from a swap. Paper is ollldd it's been in my stash for 6 years? I dembossed it w/my flur de lis cuttlebug folder (because I didn't relize I had it upside down :p) The bottom part I hand embossed with my fiskars template. I distressed and inked everything with distress ink in china blue and antique linen.

Anticipation challenge

Do an LO about the Anticipation of Spring or your fav flower. You must distress at least one flower. I turned this into a double LO (Page Maps by Becky Fleck for all LO's) and did a walk I took when it was warm enough in April to go out. The papers are Cosmo Cricket that I won, I think the red ribbon is too it was ment to go with cogsmo I've had that for about a year now. The flowers were some distressed one I had gotten for free and I think I won the prima's too! The prima's I scrunched and inked up to match the distressing of the other flowers.

and the upload is taking forever because I used hubby's camera I guess :p my BIL took my camera to Indy so he could take pics of his grandbaby! Ziggy is a Great Aunt now! So you might see some Baby LO's in the future.

April Progress

This is what I've accomplished during the month of April. My players are now complete so I'm stitching the area around them when I watch hockey games. Helps with the annoying commericals :p

Ah well. I missed posting my orts and my Christmas Stitch-A-Long so here's March's progress.

I also finished the stitching on a spring project and I bought fusable interfacing so I'm about to see how that goes!

I stitched on it all this week along with my husband's 10year anny present. We'll be married 6 years this year but it's a HUGE project. I've been watching all our movies but I'm only on the recently purchased Big Bang S2 and debating on watching the other seasons on DL or moving on to the next movie which is Big Fish. I'll post a progress picture of the Anny project when I finish the last movie starting with the letter B :D

I might stitch on the CSAL more during hockey games and during the Olympic hockey games but I put together another project for the Olympics. This way I hope it's done by Spring and I can hang it up :D

Dirty Scraps Challenge #2 and card

I finally finished a card with a faux grid I made by scoring lines on the paper and then filing to show them up. Yes I used PINK! It's a b-day card so it's not for me ;) This was for the House Mouse Challenge.

For the #2 Dirty Scraps challenge. To scrapbook a pivotal point in your life. So I chose my parent's house. I didn't have a photo of the front so I had to get a Google Map shot! Funny enough my car is the red one in the drive way. The other photos are from my 20th B-day of my friends and one pic has Steve. The papers are Cosmo Cricket and I used thickers for my letters. Thanks to @sarahei for picking number 4 and helping me decide on the Cosmo Cricket ;) The letters are Thickers and the punch says Susan something I can't read because the clearance sticker won't come off ;) I used a Page Map from Jan 2010.

Journaling reads In the 5th grade my family decided to move from our little house on 4th ave. We went house hunting and toured several homes. The 1 I liked best had a basement room for me and lots of stairs. Mom didn't like the stairs so we moved to this home. This home decided my school zone which would have been differnt in the other home. Int he other house I may have never taken Drama or Child development. I wouldn't meet the friends tha would become C.A.S.C and take me to Laser Tag where I would meet my husband.
